Provide evidence from this scene that shows that Romeo and Friar Lawrence have a close relationship.

There are
a couple of different scenes that provide textual evidence thatandhave a close relationship in
's tragic play .

The first such scene is Act II, Scene
III. When Romeo goes to Friar Laurence to confess his love for , the friar chides him because it
wasn't that long ago that he was feeling the same thing for Rosaline. Friar Laurence even says
that Romeo's tears haven't even dried yet and he thinks he's in love with someone else. Here is
the quote from Friar Laurence:

Holy Saint Francis, what
a change is here!
Is Rosaline, whom thou didst love so dear,
So soon forsaken? Young mens love then lies
Not truly in their
hearts, but in their eyes.
Jesu Maria, what a deal of brine
Hath washed thy sallow cheeks for Rosaline!
How much salt
water thrown away in waste
To season love that of it doth not
taste!
The sun not yet thy sighs from heaven clears,
Thy old groans ring yet in my ancient ears.
